Healthy Winter Warmer Breakfast

Taking a quick peek out of the window and it's raining again for about the 6th day in a row. Summer is definitely over and that means winter is just around the corner! I'm not a big fan of the cold or the winter months (unless it's snowing, of course!).


Waking up and getting myself motivated in the morning is one of the hardest things for me in the winter months and I think I may have found the perfect way to do it, whilst getting a healthy and nutritious breakfast at the same time!

So, here's my Healthy Winter Warmer Breakfast!



First take some simple porridge oats! I like to use Oat So Simple because I'm super lazy and I like to spend as much time as bed in possible. Two minutes in microwave suits me just fine ;) I know a lot of people aren't a fan of porridge and honestly I could never eat it on it's own, the thought makes my stomach turn! Adding these simple and healthy additions can make it taste super yum!

Raisins!
I like to add raisins because it gives me my sweet fix in the morning and means I don't have to pile on the sugar or the honey. I also love to cut up a banana and add the slices when I don't feel like raisins!

Walnuts!
My final ingredient is some kind of nuts. At the moment it's walnuts, but I do love almonds too. Walnuts are one of the richest sources of proteins and vitamins, including omega 3 which is good for your brain (I need lots of this!). They are also amazing for lowering cholesterol and keeping your heart healthy!

Of course this is always accompanied with a lovely cup of tea, can't start my day without one!

    This is pretty much my winter breakfast too! Unless I'm really in a rush in which case it'll just be boring old toast :( If I'm feeling extra healthy I'll have green/fruit tea instead of normal tea to cut out the extra sugar I have when I have normal tea. x
