Hello lovelies! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that Santa brought you everything you wished for ;) My Christmas day was filled with lots of food and lots of chilling out with my family.
Since it's Christmas I have a bit of a treat post for you, an OOTD, NOTW, pressies and secret santa all in one :P
I decided to dress up a little bit for Christmas dinner this year, which I don't normally do as I'm usually still in my PJs from waking up early to open presents.
I wore a simple blue dress with white polka dots that cost me about £9.99 from H&M, I absolutely love it. I wore it with tights to make it more daytime. It might not seem like it to most, but this was quite a big step for me - I tend to dress quite plain and boring during the day because I'm not very good at dressing outfits down - I would usually class this as a night time dress so I'm quite pleased with myself. I have no idea what shoes I'd put with this outfit if I wore it outside though, any suggestions?
My Christmas nails were an early present from my mum and were something I've wanted for a long time now! Nails Inc Magnetic Nail Polish in the beautiful blue green colour Whitehall (451). I was a little disappointed to start with because the instructions of how to use the magnet were all in French, so I had to go online to figure out how to make it work. Once you've done it once or twice though it's super easy to do.
The magnet comes as part of the lid and you just rest it on your cuticle for 15 seconds and the lovely pattern appears in the nail varnish. This has to be done very quickly after the nail is painted, so it takes a little bit of time to do both hands this way. I would hope that they'll bring out different magnets so you can have different patterns, because at the minute it's just the one.
The formula is great, the colour is so gorgeous and it dries relatively quickly after the pattern has formed so there's no smudging and having to start over, thank goodness!! The pattern also sort of moves down your nail with the light, it's really cool, I can't wait to wear this one again!
I took part in two blogging secret santa events this year, one at Life of a Sweetaholic and one at Which Way To Wonderland?. I received some great gifts from both of them so...
I'd like to say a huge thank you to my secret santa from Life of a Sweetaholic, I got a lovely set of 17 nail polishes which I am dying to try out! If it was you please leave me your blog link/email below so I can follow you or email you to say a proper thanks :)
I'd like to say a second huge thank you to Samia who was my secret santa from Which Way To Wonderland? who also sent me a lovely collection of different nail varnishes including e.l.f., Rimmel and MUA! If you have a blog please leave the link below I'd love to follow you and say thank you! :)
Last but not least here's a few shots of the pressies I was lucky enough to receive on Christmas morning :) I especially love the super soft mittens from Soul Cal, the Stackers jewellery box set and my cute travel documents pouch which I've been needing for years!
Boxing day is going to be full of shopping, shopping and more shopping. I wasn't too sure what I really wanted for Christmas so instead of a main present (which is what we usually do) I get a nice allowance to spend in the sales. Lots of outfit and haul posts to come and hopefully I'll find a lovely outfit for new years eve (I've already done some cheeky online shopping tonight!) :) Is anyone else going shopping tomorrow?
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to seeing in the new year next weekend! I can't believe 2012 is upon us already! ♥
