Bedroom Tour! #1

Way back in December I made a little poll of things you guys would like to see, and one of the highest on the list was a little tour of my bedroom. I took a tonne of photos so instead of packing them into one post I'll do a few. So here is the first in a series! I hope you like them ♥

My room was recently redecorated to make it more "guest friendly" (since I'm never there) and more grown up - I had lilac carpet and blue wardrobes! It took my mum almost 6 months to decide which wall colour she liked best out of the ones I chose, so it was a slow process, but it's finally finished!

These photos are a bit random and I'll have to wait til I'm home for Easter to snap one of my bed (because it was a mess when I took these!) but I still hope you'll enjoy this mini series. If it goes well maybe I'll do a home tour of our flat in St Andrews.
I have two wardrobes, although I have no clue why because I don't have near enough clothes to even fill one. The second one has been donated to Tony when he stays with me :) I would have preferred to have a bookcase in place of the 2nd wardrobe, now my books have to be kept in boxes in the loft until I move out for good! I'm determined to have a full room library when I have my own house!
Inside my wardrobe I keep my collection of boxes - I have a bit of a thing for pretty boxes! The top one is full of letters, postcards, notes and drawings that I've collected since I was little! In the bottom box I have a few ornaments and cute little bits that I don't have a place for in my new room but means too much to me to throw away.
I love the little vintage looking keys that are the handle to the wardrobes, they're super cute and great for hanging little trinkets onto. The wicker heart was something I picked up when visiting an old fashioned little village a few years ago and the dreamcatcher I've had since I was about 8 and used to be pinned to the ceiling above my head!
The gap next to my wardrobe doubles as my little shoe storage area. I love how my wellies look with the rest of the decor in my room, they're more of an ornament than a shoe :D

So, that's the first post done I really hope you've enjoyed reading and snooping around my bedroom! Keep your eyes peeled for the second part ♥

  2. I love room-tour posts because I'm so nosy and am always looking for interior design ideas for my own room.
Yours is so cute! I wish I had two wardrobes... I don't even have one as I live in the 'box room' as my little sister stole mine when I went to uni. NOT FAIR.
I have a box full of trinkets and treasures just like you. Notes, photos, postcards. They just mean too much to get rid of but I'm kind of scared that one day I'll have too much of what my mom calls 'c**p'. Lol.
    Fab post!

    1. Hehe I'm totally the same - love snooping around peoples rooms :P It's funny how many people say they'd love two wardrobes but I just wish so hard I could have my old bookcase back :( I have to hide all my books away it doesn't feel right! :) Haha, my mum calls it all crap too, the only way I get away with keeping it is by hiding it away in pretty boxes :D Thanks for your kind comment really made me smile, glad you enjoyed this post!! :) xxxx

  6. I have a box of letters and postcards too. Or several boxes rather. Right now they're all stored in my vintage suitcase.

Also, it's a dream of mine to have a library in my home, I have too many books to store and I've always wanted bookcases which are built into the walls!

    1. Ahh vintage suitcase is SUCH a cool place to store them! My box is getting full maybe I'll trade it up for a suitcase when I get my own house :D I think I'll die a happy lady if I have a library, and bookcases built into the walls are a must! I dream of the floor to ceiling, wall to wall old wooden sort with sliding ladders but I think that might be a bit of a fantasy!! Though, I've already told my boyfriend I refuse to move to his home country if I don't get a library in my house! :D xxx

    1. Omg a time capsule is such an awesome idea! I think I'll have to do the same one day :) Maybe when I have my own house then I can leave it for my great great grandkids to open or something!!

I think the plastic box with my letters in is from a cute homeware/accessories shop in St Andrews called Bonkers (I think they're online too) and the bottom one is from The Range. I also really like to take old shoe boxes and cover them in wrapping paper, I have a few of those. I also have some boxes here in St Andrews that I picked up from TK Maxx I think! Although it was a looong tim ago :D Paperchase also I've seen some gorgeous ones just a bit pricey.

I really love picking up cute little homeware things from the randomest little shops and places. Whenever I visit a quirky little town I'll always pick up a piece of decor from a little boutique :) xxxx
