I was super lucky this week to be given two of MUAs brand new glitter crackle nail quake polishes. I bumped into Lauren in St Andrews who'd just been to the MUA Lovehearts event and since she isn't a fan of glitters she passed them on to me! If you haven't checked out Lauren's blog then get your cute little butts right over there because it's a fantastic blog (She has a fabulous sense of style too!) and has me checking back for something new everyday!
For the base coat I used Models Own Black, painted all of my fingers in MUA Blue, except the 4th which I painted with MUA Copper.
I really love the colours individually but I don't think they work well paired together. The forumla is quite manageable for a glitter, and goes a bit gloopy when exposed to air for a while (but I've had this experience with all crackle polishes I've used before)
I so, so wanted these to work, but for some reason they just didn't crackle. I originally swatched them on bare nails and noticed nothing happened, so I thought a base coat might make a difference. As glitter polishes they look great, but I was disappointed about the crackle. I can vaguely see where the polish was almost going to crackle in some places! I'm not sure if the coats I applied were too thick or too thin maybe. I will have to try these again and see if I can get them to work! Will you be trying the MUA Nail Quake Crackle Glitter range? ♥
*These polishes were given to me as a gift, all opinions are 100% my own.
