OOTD & FOTD: Caribbean Calypso

Hello my darlings! I have had a busy two days - got on of my essays handed in and had to take a friend to visit her boyfriend after he had an unexpected 4am trip to the hospital. I've been a busy bee organising the blog swap partners - I've almost paired everyone up now so check your emails asap if you're taking part. Also if you haven't received an email from me with the blog button you can take it from this post and put it on your blog.

On Saturday night my parents took Tony and I out for a meal - it proved difficult to find somewhere to book last minute on Easter weekend but we eventually decided to try a place called Calypso. It's a Caribbean restaurant that we've never been to before, though we've heard good things - we also thought it would be interesting to see what Tony thought of the food, and whether it was truly authentic Caribbean! The food turned out to be amazing, especially washed down with a few Caribbean Queens, Sex on the Beach and Pina Coladas!! A live singer was performing all night too, it was great.

Since we decided to go out completely last minute I didn't get much chance to figure out a proper outfit, though I didn't feel too much like dressing up after an early start collecting Tony from the airport. Here's what I wore:
I went for a very peachy outfit: very simple slouchy tee, with my new peach cardigan from Primark (£6) along with my trusty ancient Moto jeans and my new favourites the white crochet pumps!

I picked up the peachy bracelets on my left hand from Primark for £1. I also realised the other day that I've never talked about the bracelets that I've been wearing every single day since... forever! The one with the words written on says Tortola, BVI - I picked this one up on my first ever vist in 2009 and I've been wearing it ever since; the next one in rasta colours was bought on a day trip to Virgin Gorda, another island in the BVI; the one with the shells was bought during Carnival 2010; finally the very colourful one was bought in the summer of 2011 on the very stormy cruise stop in St Maarten.

This lovely necklace was bought for me by Tony as a 3 year anniversary present. The necklace actually came with the cage empty and little peach pearl inside came from the inside of a clam that I had to open myself! The colour of the pearl is supposed to symbolise something and I think this one is either health or wealth (the colours are very similar).

These super cute bow earrings came as part of the set for £2 that I posted about last. They look really cute on!

Next up here's another face of the day for you - I'm doing well this week! As usual, please excuse the weird facial expression I'm no good at face posing!! :D
I tried to use a few things that I've not tried before - here's how I made this look:

  • YSL Touche Eclat - 01
  • Miss Sporty Ohh! Tan So Fine Bronzing Powder - 001 Sun Kissed
  • Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Mascara - Noir
  • Lancome Liner Design - 01 Noir Sensuel (Top Waterline)
  • e.l.f. Eyeliner & Shadow Stick - Brown & Basic (Eyeliner for bottom waterline and Shadow for top lashline)
  • MUA Lipstick - Shade 6
  • Benefir Blusher - Coralista
What do you think? ♥
