Style Something - Pretty Polishes #1

Hello there, I'm Moe from Five Sixteenths & when I saw that Rachael (a fellow Nail Polish enthusiast) was going on vacation I swooped up the opportunity to share with you some of my fave nail polish.  Not only polishes from my collection, but new styles & ways to wear them!

Recently I did a really cool post called Style Something Blue.  In this post I mentioned a few ways to incorporate the color Sodalite Blue (a Pantone color of the year) into your wardrobe.  After that post I realized the most affordable way to incorporate a new color into your wardrobe is through nail polish!  Introducing the Style Something - Pretty Polishes collection over here on Island Girl Insights.

Picking up a cheap polish can help you work a new color or trend into your wardrobe.  But don't forget the top coat.  My favorite base coat/top coat actually comes from Icing by Claire's stores.  This top coat makes any cheap-o polish last!

My favorite trend right now is the trend towards Neutral Nails.  With this look you're matching your nail polish to your foundation for a simple, classic look.  Since I am big on flair & often tend towards bright colors I wondered how I was going to translate this polish into my own style.  Bring in Glitter Nail Polish!

The Glitter Accent Nail is no new thing, but any time I can add my love of nail polish with my love of glitter I totally do it!  This brings this classy manicure up a notch!

Nice Neutrals

For this manicure I used my trusty base coat/top coat combo from Icing, Sally Hansen's Cafe au Lait & Milani's Disco Lights.  This Cafe au Lait color is the perfect neutral! I've been long on the hunt for one & this one turned up as a suggestion by my sister.  But any neutral/glitter combo would be awesome. The pink is really feminine but boost it up a notch with a bright blue or purple & rock it out!

I can't wait to use this classy look for work.  The base coat/top coat combo from Icing makes this mani last all week so no chipping nails in sight!  I type all day for work & then then type all night for my blog so I need a top coat that keeps my manicure in mint condition.

I hope you've enjoyed this first Pretty Polishes installation!  What polishes are you loving right now?
