What's in my Travel Bag?... & Jet Lag!

Good evening from the sunny Caribbean my dears! It's about 8pm at night here, so I'm 5 hours behind the UK. I really wanted to post the "What's in my Travel Bag" post yesterday but after waking up at 6am, taking 3 long flights and doing lots of waiting about in airports, I arrived in Tortola at 10pm (3am GMT) absolutely shattered. I fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow and even though I slept a solid 10 or so hours I was wide awake and raring to go at 7am this morning!! Jet lag has definitely hit me though and I feel a bit fragile if I don't take a ten minute snooze every few hours.

The first thing I did when I woke up this morning was check to see if my exam results had come through. I had to get Tony to look at them for me because I was so convinced that I had done awfully. But I'm pleased to say that I passed them all and I'm really pleased with what I got :) I can breathe a sigh of relief and let my summer begin!

Let's back track a few hours so I can show you what I packed into my adorable bargain floral backpack from Primark at a tidy £5, I know a few of you asked to see :)

1 - LOOK mag // 2 - Puzzle book: can't live without one on a plane journey! // 3 - My diary: long haul flights are an amazing place for planning blog posts // 4 - Holiday reading: Cloud Atlas and One Day // 5 - Cute floral card holder // 6 - Green M&M shaped headphones and a splitter // 7 - Kleenex face blotters: for when my face is starting to look as rough as I feel // 8 - Small travel essentials kit: eyedrops (aeroplane airsystem makes me seriously dehydrated), Burts Bees lip balm, Lancome Hydrating Zen face reviver cream, Nivea hand cream, plasters, gum, a hair tie and a coin purse // 9 - Sunnies! 2 for £4 at New Look and they protect against UV // 10 - Disney playing cards // 11 - Kindle // 12 - Documents pouch: so I don't misplace my passport! // 13 - Floral backpack, £5 Primark. I also had my computer in there too - Season 2 of Drop Dead Diva kept me sane for hours! As you can see I pack a very practical bag of items when I travel!

I also made sure I did the obligatory tourist photo at New York airport for you guys... cue awkward "I've been on a plane for 8 hours and I'm exhausted" touristy pose!

Today, I spent the day mainly in the garden giving all the dogs major snuggles because I've missed them all so much. We had to take them to the vet for their annual shots and that was not a fun activity. Momo, the littlest Pomeranian, is my puppy and is now the great big age of one! I haven't seen her since September and at first I was heartbroken because she didn't remember me and was absolutely terrified! I picked her up though and she got my scent and soon realised who I was and went a bit mental. She's literally not left my side for the rest of the day and it is SO FREAKING CUTE I can't even...!

Puppies trip to the vets :(

  12. Looks like you're having a brilliant time! This post has gotten me all excited about what to and what not to pack for my summer in the United States, especially for my in-flight hand luggage... Super scary real-luggage-wise because I'm only taking a backpack for a whole five weeks, eeek! Thanks for a great post chick, I'm sure you'll be enjoying yourself loads :)
