Last Wednesday, Chivalrous and I were very kindly invited to TGI Friday's in Manchester for a #BurgerBlindDate....
Not really knowing what to expect, we went along and were immediately greeted and whisked off to the bar area, swiftly guided behind the bar and instructed to start making our own cocktails! We weren't expecting such VIP treatment at all, and after a long hard day at work we were like deer in headlights when asked "What sort of drink do you fancy?" TGI's never fail to impress when it comes to the bar-tending skills and there was no exception here! I went for a light and fruity Singapore Sling with gin and cherry brandy and Bob went for a milky, baileys concoction. After a shakey shake of the cocktail mixer we served up our drinks, gave them the
seal grin of approval and were guided to our table for the main event.
We were faced with the most cryptic menu. 8 burgers, 8 clues and just one choice... which one to devour? I sipped on my glorious cocktail while I decided but it didn't take long for me to settle on Contestant #1. Anything asian and I'm sold! Bob chose to go for a double whammy burger. Our burgers arrived soon after choosing, swiftly followed by a photographer to snap our #BurgerFace of the evening which were printed, framed and presented to us - lovely touch!
My burger was DELICIOUS! I can't even stress enough how mind-boggling yummy it was. The burger meat was juicy, the sauce had a wonderfully spicy kick that wasn't too sweet or over-powering and to top it off there were some crispy noodles thrown in for good measure. I love a bit of a crunch. I opted for sweet potato fries as my side and my goodness they were a perfect accompaniment to this burger. I have never eaten a meal so fast! I later found out that I'd had the Bruce Lee burger - can't recommend this enough!
After totally demolishing our burgers we sat and chatted, sipped on more delicious cocktails and had close up magic to entertain us from the amazing Ron (@ronismagic)! He was at the last TGI event I went to and is truly amazing at slight of hand. The tricks leave you gaping in awe.
Apart from getting caught in a torrential downpour on the way back to the car, the whole experience from start to finish was amazing and once again the hospitality at TGI Friday's was second to none. I want to thank the team for a brilliant evening!
Now, what's really exciting is that on the night the best #BurgerFace would win £200 to spend at TGI's and £50 to give away to their readers. I ONLY WENT AND WON IT! I am very excited to soon have £200 of lovely Bruce Lee burgers in my belly but most of all I'm excited to be able to offer one of you lovely lot £50 to spend at TGI Friday's - all because I had the best (probably most horrific) burger face of the evening!
If you live in the UK and want to win this fab prize, just enter using the Gleam form below. (It works just like Rafflecopter, but better!)
